DETROIT, Mich., Jan. 12, 2015 – Aisin Seiki Co., Ltd. (headquarters: Kariya, Aichi, Japan, president: Fumio Fujimori), the North American R&D office, Aisin Technical Center of America, Inc. (Northville, MI, president: Yoshiaki Kato), and the North American headquarters, Aisin Holdings of America (Seymour, MI, president: Masayasu Saito) will jointly exhibit at Detroit’s 2015 North America International Auto Show at Cobo Center, January 12-25.

Aisin, the fifth largest Tier One supplier in the world, is exhibiting at NAIAS for the third consecutive year. The exhibit will focus on the “safety,” “fuel efficiency,” and “comfort and convenience” of automobiles.

    Safety

Aisin will introduce a simulator that demonstrates technology allowing drivers to experience safer driving. It will also show seating sensors on an exhibit panel, which can be installed to a variety of automobiles and are in high demand in the North American market. The Aisin simulator displays electronic tilt and telescopic steering columns that absorb the impacts of a crash.

    Comfort and Convenience

Aisin is proud to introduce its sunroof which maximizes the opening for driver enjoyment. Its use of glass over the entire roof surface improves visual quality. Additionally, it will display the power seat that offers comfortable seating positions and rear through monitor that shows the rear pillar blind spots of the vehicle.

Aisin will host a media luncheon on Tues., Jan. 13, 12:15 to 12:40 p.m. The casual event will feature lunch and provide media opportunities to meet with Aisin executives, and learn more about Aisin technology. The Aisin exhibit is located behind GM and next to Verizon.

    Sunroof

・Two large panels allow sunlight to come through the wide area inside the vehicle. The range of the operating glass surface area is wide and conveys a strong sense of openness.

・Panels operate outside the vehicle, which reduces the oppressive feelings for users.

    Rear through monitor (under development)

・By creating a montage of images taken by cameras set both inside and outside the vehicle, the monitor is able to display the images in the blind spots and offers safety to drivers.

・The monitor allows increased visibility of vehicles and pedestrians in the event of lane change or backup.
