Job TitleProject Engineer
Reports toManager

Position Responsibilities and Requirements: The incumbent is expected to perform the following functions that AWA has determined are essential to this position:
Position Summary Perform application/project engineering for the engineer’s designated automotive products.
Functional Responsibilities Sales Engineering
  • Develop and initiate engineering promotional activities, preparing necessary material (presentation materials, samples, vehicles, etc.)
  • Assist sales dept. to make sales strategy and to prepare quotations
Product Planning
  • Coordinate product strategy
  • Investigate technical trend, market trend, product trend, regulations etc.
  • Benchmark assigned products
Project Implementation
  • Develop APQP related documents
  • Implement engineering plans by evaluating current situations
  • Resolve engineering issues on assigned projects
Design
  • Develop and coordinate product specifications
  • Develop product specifications based on customer requirements, related parts specifications and AISIN’s design policy
  • Modify product specifications in accordance with product test results, vehicle test results, etc.
  • Implement application design by adopting AISIN’s original design
  • Review and issue internal drawings and customer drawings
Evaluation
  • Develop evaluation plan and coordinate implementation
  • Analyze and interpret test results and take countermeasures if necessary
  • Make and submit test report to customer and related AISIN departments
  • Investigate and order necessary test equipment
Quality Improvement
  • Gather and analyze quality information from customer, manufacturing plant and market
  • Plan and implement countermeasures in cooperation with customer and related AISIN department
Other
  • Perform other tasks and duties as assigned

Work Environment Requirements
  • Must be able to operate a personal computer, telephone and other office equipment.
  • Must perform job duties onsite, except those duties that are customarily or by their nature performed offsite (for example, offsite customer visits).
  • Must be able to work effectively in a fast paced environment where constructive criticism is encouraged.
  • Must be able to work on multiple assignments at once, and complete assignments within deadline and budget (if applicable) with satisfactory quality.
  • Must be able to operate as an effective team member.
  • Must be committed to a high standard of safety, and be willing and able to comply with all safety laws and all AWA safety policies.
Attendance/Work Hours Requirements
  • Must maintain an acceptable attendance record.
  • Must be willing and available to work 7.5 hours per day, 5 days per week, plus other hours per day or week as are necessary or desirable to meet business needs.
  • Must be willing and available to work such weekends and holidays as necessary and desirable to meet business needs.
  • NOTE: These requirements are consistent with AWA policy.
Travel Requirements
  • Approximately 25%
  • Must be willing and available to travel to such locations and with such frequency as is necessary and desirable to meet business needs.

Required Skills and Abilities:
Essential Skills and Experience
  • Computer literacy (MS Word, MS Excel, PowerPoint).
Beneficial Skills and Experience
  • 1-3 years of relevant engineering experience in the automotive industry, preferably with a Tier One supplier.
Education/Training/
Certifications Required
  • Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate Engineering discipline.
 
Compensation:
Salary Range for this Position $50,000-$60,000

Position Responsibilities and Requirements: The incumbent is expected to perform the following functions that AWA has determined are essential to this position:
Position Summary Perform application/project engineering for the engineer’s designated automotive products.
Functional Responsibilities
  • Support contact with Major OEM Account, in various areas to open discussion / promote AISIN Seiki and group company products. Arrange presentation personnel and requirements as needed.
  • Support all business activities and direct customer requirements – Commercial, engineering, prototype, packaging, quality and production requirements.
  • Interface with Engineering / Quality / Production Control personnel as appropriate, (both AWA and customer) with the purpose of supporting management of programs and the development of program strategies from initiation through production requirements.
  • Support the launch of new programs, track prototype and production profitability of components sold.
  • Draft letters as appropriate both internally (AISIN group companies) and to customers for the purpose of managing or initiating business.
  • Conduct marketing activities / research as appropriate and assemble relevant information for reporting and / or strategic activities.
  • Prepare Account Status reports as appropriate for senior management.
  • Prepare / assemble information for customer meetings or Senior Management reviews.
  • Interface internally with other Managers / Coordinators / North American Plants / Japanese Headquarters as appropriate to manage business issues
  • Attend meetings both internal and with Customers, as appropriate.
  • Be knowledgeable on industry activities as they relate to specific product / customer requirements. Distribute this information within AWA / AISIN as appropriate.
  • Understand corporate structure / culture / objectives and request information / clarification / direction from Account Manager / Management as required.
  • Operate with “cross-functional” approach and accordingly accept / assume new responsibilities as dictated by business environment.
