• “An opportunity to win!”

After years of development, the Hattori Racing Enterprises program finally made it to the NASCAR winners circle. And longtime sponsor Aisin Group was there to share the exciting moment.

At the second race of the 2018 season, Team Hattori seized its first NASCAR victory winning on Feb. 24 in Atlanta. Brett Moffitt, driver of the #16 AISIN Group TOYOTA Tundra, overtook two competitors from inside the track during the final two laps for the thrilling win. The NASCAR Camping World Truck Series victory was the first major win in North America for team owner, Shige Hattori.

“I’m excited to have an opportunity to win,” Brett Moffitt said in an interview with FS1. “And working with Zippy again makes this opportunity even better.” Crew chief Scott Zipadelli added, “we have the same focus on winning.”

The team also finished third in Las Vegas at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway, and enjoyed another top 10 finish at Martinsville Speedway in Virginia in March.

Aisin Group, a primary sponsor of HRE, continues to support the team and share in its winning vision. It has sponsored HRE intermittently since the team was launched in 2008. Aisin will rejoin HRE at Kentucky Speedway on July 12. ADVICS also joins the team at Chicagoland Speedway on July 29. HRE will compete later this season in Michigan at Michigan International Speedway, Aug. 11.
