company, Aisin Holdings of America, Inc., splits off from Aisin World Corp. of
America (January 8, 2001) |
On
January 1, 2001, Aisin World Corp. of America (AWA) was split so as to form a
general management company and a sales company. The sales company will retain
the Aisin World Corp. of America name (headquarters: Detroit, Michigan) and the
new general management company will be established as Aisin Holdings of America,
Inc. (AHA; headquartered in Chicago, Illinois).
AWA has so far served North America with both trading and general management functions.
With this split, AWA and AHA will each carry out a respective, clearly-defined
function, with the aim of raising the level of operations in these areas.
