Business Strategies Aluminum Extrusion Company Established in North America
(September 2, 2003)

Aisin Holdings of America, Inc. (President: Mr. Toshikazu Nagura; Headquarters: Lombard, Illinois, U.S.A.), a holding company in North America of Aisin Seiki Co., Ltd. (President: Mr. Kanshiro Toyoda; Headquarters: Kariya-city, Aichi, Japan) established a new company to produce aluminum extrusion products for the first time in North America as a Japanese parts manufacturer. The new company, Aisin Light Metals, LLC, which is the fifteenth production company of Aisin Group in North America, was established in Marion, Illinois, U.S.A. on July 23.

Aisin Seiki is developing aluminum product operations to improve the environmentally friendly performance of automobiles, including the improvement of engine combustion efficiency and powertrain efficiency by weight reduction. As for the aluminum product operation in North America, Aisin Automotive Casting, LLC (President: Mr. Kenji Tsujimura; Headquarters: London, Kentucky, U.S.A.) already produces aluminum die-casting engine parts and drivetrain parts. Since further expansion of production is expected, such as the first order for aluminum bumpers from Toyota Motor Manufacturing North America, we established the new production base for expanding our business.

In the new company, production will be managed by Aisin Keikinzoku Co., Ltd. (President : Mr. Shinji Shiratori, Head office: Shinminato-city, Toyama, Japan), an aluminum die-cast and extrusion manufacturer in the AISIN Group, while sales will be handled by Aisin World Corp. of America (President: Mr. Junichi Nishimura, Plymouth, Michigan, U.S.A.). With the establishment of the new company, AISIN aims to strengthen the aluminum product operation and expand the sales in North America.

With the overall goal of becoming a global supplier, Aisin Seiki, along with the AISIN Group, strives to move ahead with the establishment of overseas production bases best suited to the characteristics of each major region and the construction of an efficient production structure.
