Mark Hamilton, Assistant Manager-Logistics, AWA Indiana April 8, 2020 About a year ago my wife and I found our first “kindness rock”, while eating out for breakfast. There was a label on the back of the rock asking us to look at the Facebook page, Columbus IN Rocks, to see what it was all about. After seeing how something as simple as finding a painted rock could change someone’s mood, or make their day, we thought we would give it a try. Now thousands of rocks later, it is rewarding to think that maybe one of our rocks brought some happiness to someone in need of a smile! Also, the process can be calming, after a stressful day at the office. lol Given the stressful times we are currently in, now more than ever, we find that people are in need of a little extra kindness and joy. So we continue to paint our kindness rocks, to be hidden when it is once again safe for everyone to be out and about. Pictures of the painted rocks (by ourselves and others) are still posted on the Columbus IN Rocks Facebook page and can be viewed by anyone. Hopefully, they help to bring a little smile to kids and adults alike, during these uncertain times. Some of the rocks were painted by my wife. I’m not as artistic, but do use a process called paint pouring for the rocks I paint. Hope everyone is staying safe and healthy!
